Call For Models!

In Summer 2010, Emily Bee Arts will be launching a new method for photographing, and we are calling it "Bee Vintage." This product line will be able to be an option for virtually any photo shoot, although solo portraits, boudoir, and senior portraits. There will also be new design elements applicable to invites, save-the-dates, announcements, etc. The subject will be vintage-glam, styled by us. We will have some props available, although basic dress for the shoot will be brought by you. We can make you look glamorous with a hint of sepia, bright red lipstick (if you're a lady, of course), lace gloves, antique coloring, fedoras, bowties, and hair and makeup to set you back to the 30's & 40's.

Of course, to see the potential to these products...I need to take some pictures. So, I need models! Email emilybeearts@gmail.com if you are interested and want more information.

Ruger Painting! + Emily Bee Arts Monthly Newsletter REMINDER!!!

This latest painting was a Christmas Gift commission, it is of a beautiful golden retriever named Ruger. Ruger was diagnosed with a form of cancer, and this painting was done as tribute to him. The good news? Ruger's cancer has gone into remission!! :) This is the third pet memorial painting I've done these last couple of months, and I have had so much fun trying to bring the animal and its spirit back to life on a canvas--for memories to last a lifetime.

One more thing: Emily Bee Arts is set to launch Saturday January 1st! We still only have SEVEN subscribers. Email emilybeearts@gmail.com to subscribe. Issues include promotions, news about my business' world and the art world in general, coupons, and more!!! This issue includes what will be our ANNUAL NEW YEAR'S SPECIAL to subscribers ONLY. With the January issue, as advertized below, you get 20% off any photo session aside from weddings. Of course, there will always be news on my blog, but the newsletter is free and a closer look at Emily Bee arts and the art community. I might be begging, but I guarantee this newsletter will not be SPAM (I know, we all dread that stuff). Everything I write and make for the newsletter is done by scratch, and I hope to include things such as tutorials on how to make DIY artwork and stuff. So yeah, be cool. Subscribe. It'll be awesome :D!

PS: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Elsbeth (Painting)

Here is the 2nd pet memorial I have completed. This was my family's very first pet, Elsbeth the cat. She died in 2004 at the ripe-old age of 17 in human years (that's about 109 in cat years!). I have worked on a 3rd pet memorial, but I am not able to post that at this time (it's a Christmas present).

Aidan & Allie - Madison, WI Family/Child Portrait Photographer

Two parts of good news! Jezebel cooperated for another shoot!

I was very excited when I was asked to photograph Aidan and Allie again, but in a more intimate setting at their grandma's house all decorated for the holidays! There were more snowmen in that house than one could keep track of! I loved that there were four generations present for this shoot--Aidan & Allie, their mother, their grandmother....and even their GREAT-GRANDMOTHER. Check out these images from today, absolutely had a blast working with everyone!!!

The J Family - Madison, WI Family Portrait Photographer

Well, a day after Jezebel (my lovely DSLR) decided to go haywire right before a shoot (how embarrassing!), she took some great pictures! Camera doc ordered her a new part, she's on her way to recovery after a temporary fix and soon enough she'll be fixed 100%. Anyways, I headed to the Old University area here in Madison to photograph my roommate's brother's family. It was at most 1 degree Fahrenheit outside so it was very cold. There was a blizzard here the day before. This family was the cutest! The little girl had a lot to say, and the little guy, was very happy and relaxed. They were a blast to photograph! Check out a few images from their shoot!

The Troia Family - Madison, WI Family Portrait Photographer

Today I got to work with a lovely family by doing their holiday card photoshoot (By the way, if you haven't seen the deal Emily Bee Arts is offering...check out the facebook page). I barely had to give this family any direction, they knew what they were doing when it comes to being photogenic. One of the funniest parts of the shoot was trying to get little Allie to look at the camera instead of her cute, little, shiny black shoes. We figured it out eventually, the shoot turned out great :)
